  • Antique Brass

With russet hues and a brass undertone, this variation on brass retains a warm and mellow character but adds age and maturity by highlighting the variance of shades making each piece both alluring and unique.

To create this finish our solid brass products are firstly oxidised to create a dark patina.

This patina is then removed by hand, partially revealing the brass below, making each piece unique with variations in colour and tone and a clear lacquer is applied.

A bold classic contemporary finish on Solid Brass. The mirror effect reflects light and colours of the surroundings and will complement perfectly any fashionable colour scheming. Polished Chrome is easy to clean and is low maintenance.

Regularly removing dirt and watermarks and buffing with a nonabrasive cloth will help maintain the life of these metal finishes for door hardware.

  • Polished Nickel

With its subtle golden hue this is a mellow alternative to polished chrome. The finish is not coated and will oxidise naturally. If not regularly buffed with a soft cloth this finish will subtlety change over time by taking on an aged patina.

Our Polished Nickel finish is nickel plating on highly polished brass.

Unlike many metal finishes for door hardware, the nickel finish is not lacquered, it is a "living finish" which means it will change naturally over time. The finish will oxidise to create a misty patina which can be removed from the surface or left to age gracefully.

Expect this finish to change naturally over time.

  • Matt Bronze

An aged finish on brass creating a vintage appearance, yet one that also looks outstanding in contemporary schemes. Over a period of time the bronze colour will lighten along any edges and surfaces that are frequently touched and create a naturally aged appearance highlighting frequently touched areas and exposing the brass below.

To create our Matt Bronze finish, we have oxidised the brass surface to produce a dark brown patina and then applied a clear matt lacquer.

Over a period of time any edges and surfaces that are frequently touched will expose the brass below creating a naturally aged appearance.

Expect this finish to change naturally over time.

  • Satin Chrome

The brush marks of satin chrome will appeal to those who favour an industrial yet contemporary chrome finish. Satin Chrome Finish is also less prone to finger marks than polished chrome.

Regularly removing dirt and watermarks and buffing with a nonabrasive cloth will help maintain life of these door hardware finishes.

Lacquered Finishes for Door Hardware

  • Metals suffer from surface tarnishing if left exposed to the atmosphere.
  • Surfaces can be protected with the application of different protective finishes, such as paint, metal coating or lacquer.
  • We apply a clear lacquer to our products which forms a protective surface layer; but does not detract from the inherent beauty of the product.
  • The life of the lacquer can be affected by many environmental or atmospheric conditions, including sea air and industrial pollution.

Polished Brass, Satin Nickel, Antique Brass, Matt Bronze, Satin Brass and Satin Rose Gold are all lacquered door hardware finishes.

To help maintain the finish, we recommend the following: -

  • Keep it clean by removing dust or liquids from the surface with a soft non-abrasive cloth.
  • Do not use metal cleaners or aerosol sprays as these will damage the lacquer coating.
  • Avoid impact with rings, keys and other metallic objects which may damage the lacquer.

With maintenance and by reducing the risk of scratching, the life of the lacquer can be prolonged.
